How to Remove Dipping Powder by Hand
The great disappearing act. File this tutorial under "how to file off dip powder by hand.
Step by Step
Step 1
First thing's first: Wash and sanitize your and your client’s hands thoroughly.
Step 2
Begin by using an EDGE 180 File to remove as many layers of Powder Perfection as possible. Avoid making any contact with the natural nail by making sure you can always see some color.
Step 3
Remove dust using a brush.
Step 4
Grab a Nail Wrap and fold the edge over, then grab a Nail Wipe and fold it into quarters. Saturate both the pad and folded Nail Wipe with Artificial Nail Remover, then place the wipe on the pad of the wrap and wrap each finger securely with the saturated pads facing the nail.
Step 5
To heat things up, place hands in Salon Mitts and cover them with a towel. Check nails after 10-15 minutes of soaking. Pro Tip: There are two options for removers–Expert Touch Lacquer Remover or Artificial Nail Remover. If soaking with Lacquer Remover, check the nails after 20-25 minutes.
Step 6
Using a twisting motion, remove each wrap.
Step 7
Gently push off the Powder Perfection with a reusable cuticle stick, but if the product doesn’t budge, re-wrap the nail and soak for an additional 5 minutes.
Step 8
All gone. Have your client wash their hands and then move on with service.
