How to Shape Nails

Step 1
How to Shape Square Nails:
Flat on top with straight, sharp corners. This is a popular shape for those with short or long nail beds.
Step 2
Cut right to it and save time by trimming nails first before filing. Start on the sides and then move to the center.
Step 3
Check shape from all angles (look under, over, and to the side of the nails) and file if needed. Repeat the step if needed.
Step 4
Grab your 220/280 Flex Buffer to perfect the shape and get rid of any fraying from the free edge and under the nail.

How to Shape Squoval Nails:
When square and oval stun together. This shape is perf for those who like a flat edge but not sharp corners.
Step 6
Trim nails to whip things into shape. Again, start on the sides and move to the center if needed.

Nail the squoval shape by filing straight across, then rounding off the corners in one long stroke to connect the sides and the free edge.
Step 8

How to Shape Round Nails:
Always a classic and perfect for short or loooong nails.

For things to take shape, cut nails to the desired length while keeping the final shape in mind.

Show you’re well-rounded by filing following the natural curve of the fingertip until the desired shape is achieved. Look 'round (under, over, and on the sides) to make sure everything is symmetrical. Smooth things over with your 220/280 Flex Buffer.

How to Shape Oval Nails:
This shape goes a long way to elongate the finger by narrowing the sides and tips of the nail.

File each side of the nail, slightly curving at the end towards the center of the nail to create an egg-like shape.
