It all started in 1981, when we were a tiny dental supply company called Odontorium Products Inc. Then we realized dentures and acrylic nails shared the same chemistry, and decided nails were way more fun. The rest is polish history.

OPI Milestones

OPI was founded as Odontorium Products, Inc.

OPI was founded as Odontorium Products, Inc., a small dental supply company led by George Schaeffer and Suzi Weiss-Fischmann.

The “rubber band special” launched—OPI’s first acrylic system and an instant hit with manicurists.

1981
